You are a Beautiful Woman Chosen For Greatness and I know that God made you to be enough. Self-worth is such a hard concept to grasp or take hold of when we don’t like who we are! This concept is something that so many Christian women struggle with. We need to rethink or reprogram our brains because we have believed the lies from the enemy or believed the lies from the media or our culture that have given us a poor self-image of ourselves.

A quick search on Google says:

Self-worth is the internal sense of being good enough and worthy of love and belonging from others. Self-worth is often confused with self-esteem, which relies on external factors such as successes and achievements to define worth and can often be inconsistent leading to someone struggling with feeling worthy.

Having A Healthy Self-Worth

Women who have a healthy self-worth tend to believe in themselves and know that they will achieve their goals or accomplish what they set out to do. Women who have little or no self-worth tend to doubt themselves and then do not believe they can get something done or achieve their goals.

If you have a high level of self-worth, you believe in yourself and feel that you are worth treating yourself with respect and you allow yourself to enjoy good things.

The opposite is true as well. If you have no self-worth, then you treat yourself with disrespect and you probably don’t allow yourself to enjoy a lot of those good things that you think you don’t deserve because you’re not worthy enough.

What Do You Think About Yourself?

What do you think about yourself? Do you have an internal sense of being enough? Do you love who God made you to be, with your individual God-given talents and abilities that you know are uniquely you?

You have a beauty about you that only you possess. This may not be the outward beauty that you are focusing on, but you have a beauty in your internal character that God created for you alone. This in itself is enough! This is a beauty that makes you special, like that of a snowflake or a fingerprint; there is none like you with the same God-given gifts and talents. You are valuable and worthy of love and self-worth.

How do you view people or look at characters who are daughters of kings and queens? Think of a movie where there is a daughter of nobility. I usually think of princesses who are treated so well in their royal palaces or they always end up with their Prince Charming. Little girls love all the princess movies and why is that? Because we make them out to be worthy of their Prince Charming! They are respected and treated with the utmost love and care, especially compared to the staff of the royal palace.

You and I are daughters of the Most High King, and we too are worthy of His Love because the King Himself says so. He sent His only son to die so that we are purified and made clean. We have self-worth because God is our King.

What The Bible Says About Self-Worth?

Let’s take a look…

I will be a Father to you and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

2 Corinthians 6:18

We are daughters of the King! What an awesome thought this is…to know that we have self-worth just knowing we are heirs of God.

Here is another verse to recap and to help you fully understand that you have a lot of self-worth because you are a child of God.

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Romans 8: 14-17

  1. I love the last one…that each one of us is different and made by the hands of God himself and so we should love ourselves because God made us just the way we are. We're all so hard on ourselves and I am certainly guilty of that.

  2. Just reading through my email and ran across this. I enjoyed reading all of the Bible Verses. It reminded me of how Special I really am. Sometimes with all of the chaos going on around I tend to forget that I am a real Princess a daughter's of the most high. I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me.
